a degree in print journalism from Penn State University and more than 20 years on the job, I have experience in just about every type of writing. I spent several years in daily newspapers working as a reporter, features editor and weekly columnist, and my journalism work continues today as a magazine editor and freelance writer for such outlets as The Washington Post, The Huffington Post, GQ.com and several others.
But I also have extensive experience writing and editing marketing and PR copy for both small businesses and large corporations in a variety of industries. That includes writing SEO-friendly blog posts, marketing copy, press releases, website text, company newsletters, professional bios, intraoffice communication and training tools, catalog product descriptions and more. In addition, I’ve written radio commercials, video scripts and textbook manuals for healthcare software. I’ve even written three books, and edited another.
Throughout my writing career, I have been most moved and excited about my craft when people have asked for my words to be a part of their life stories — helping to pen mini memoirs, wedding vows, important personal letters, features on nonprofit organizations, even social stories for children with autism spectrum disorder.
Whether your writing needs are personal or professional, finding the right words — even figuring out what it is you want to say — can be a daunting endeavor, but it’s important work and, when done correctly, will reap benefits far beyond what you might expect.
Let me do that important work for you.
